Liminal Zone: a new trailer announces a new story of Junji Ito
Junji Ito is choked with commitments, and we’re not just talking about the project inherent in the upcoming Netflix series and the anime dedicated to one of his most famous works.
In fact, in the autumn months, the anime adaptation of Uzumaki will arrive on Toonami, while Netflix has announced that Junji Ito’s Maniac series is under development.
The project tends to animate and transpose on the small screen a series of stories currently told only through ink and paper, scary and disturbing stories.
As if that weren’t enough, a new trailer has arrived today for an upcoming compilation known as the Liminal Zone, which includes some new disturbing stories.
Junji Ito has been drawing horror for decades now, and he does so not only with short stories but also with long-running stories, which have allowed the mangaka to win three Eisner awards over the course of his career.
With the likes of Uzumaki, Gyo, Frankenstein, No Longer Human and many more, helping to enrich Ito’s already impressive resume, the artist has become world famous and is currently a leading advocate of pop culture. . .
Viz Media, given the many news surrounding Ito, shared the official trailer of Liminal Zone, which paves the way for a disturbing and disturbing tale, which will see a couple come across a mysterious woman who opens the world to the supernatural:

What fate awaits them after screaming?
After the violent departure of a small-town train, a couple suddenly encounter a “crying woman” – a grieving professional – whispering at a funeral. Mako transforms: she can’t stop crying and will drag the hero into a whirlwind of terror!
In another story, after deciding to die together, a couple enter Aokigahara, a notorious forest of suicides. What startling extraterrestrial stream do they discover there? A disturbing and really terrible input.
At the moment, no release date has been set for the Uzumaki or Maniac anime, Netflix’s animated story collections, but 2022 will likely provide more information.
In Italy J-POP publishes Ito’s works and this collection will surely come.
