The Tokyo Revengers manga will have a new spin-off and will focus on the past of Keisuke Baji and Chifuyu Matsuno. It will be out very soon!
This Monday the official Twitter account of the Tokyo Revengers manga announced that a new spin-off or derivative of this is on the way and which will focus on Keisuke Baji and Chifuyu Matsuno. The name of this work is Tokyo Revengers ~Baji Keisuke Kara no Tegami~, which translated would be A Letter from Keisuke Baji. Unlike the main story, which is handled by the mangaka Ken Wakui, another creative participates in this story.
He is none other than Yukinori Kawaguchi, but to keep things on the same page he will be supervised by Wakui himself. As announced, the first chapter will be published in this year 35th issue of Kodansha Weekly Shōnen Magazine. This edition will be available on July 27. It will also be serialized in the Magazine Pocket app. At the moment it is not known how long this new work will last.
But it seems that it is not a one-shot as one might think. As revealed, this story will show how Baji and Chifuyu met in Tokyo Revengers, until the moment of their overcoming. It’s a good way to learn more about the past of Keisuke Baji, one of the most popular characters in Ken Wakui work. This despite the fact that his presence in history does not last as long as might be expected.
Chifuyu Matsuno, at least anime-wise, is still very relevant. After the cliffhanger or sudden outcome of the first season, we will have to see what happens. Fortunately, the second installment, which is based on the arc of Seiya Kessen (Christmas Showdown), is confirmed. Last weekend it was revealed that its premiere will be in January of next year and again by LIDEN FILMS.
Will there be a chance to see this story of Baji and Chifuyu animated? It’s hard to say, as the studio is too busy on the main series to take this extra story into account. Although it cannot be completely ruled out. On some occasions, the studies take up secondary stories to enrich the main anime, or in this case, they end up being converted into OVAs. So similar treatment cannot be completely ruled out.
We’ll see how things go with this Baji and Chifuyu manga. Let’s see if the drawing style is similar to that of Ken Wakui manga.
