Warner Bros announced that Japan’s dark fantasy animated series “Bastard!! – Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy” is entering its second season this year. The next season will premiere on Netflix worldwide and will be officially titled BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- Requiem of Hell Arc.
“Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy” is based on a manga written by Kazushi Hagiwara published in 1988. Directed by Takaharu Ozaki, the Japanese anime series tells the story of the kingdom of Meta-llicana, who seeks help from an unstable Dark Wizard when evil forces attempt to revive Anthrasax, the god of destruction.
The series’ first season was an international success, with the first 13 episodes premiering worldwide on Netflix on June 30, 2022. In the two weeks from June 26th to July 10th, it recorded 18.28 million hours, making it one of the top 10 in the world.
Bastard Anime Season 2 Release Date
The good news is that Bastards: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy will return later this year with Bastards Season 2, but no official release date has been announced yet. It will be a continuation of the first season and not a completely new second season.
Whether or not Bastards will return for an official second season after Season 1 Part 2 in 2023 and later this year could depend on how well the show is received by audiences.

What is Bastard Anime about?

Only a virgin maiden’s kiss can break the seal. Faced with imminent danger, in the moment Yoko put her lips to Lucien’s, a dark and powerful energy filled the air. The strongest, and most handsome protagonist, the great Dark wizard Schneider, is finally back.
