Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII will be a remake

The rumors were true! Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII returns!

As previously announced, today Square Enix would be making announcements about the future of the franchise in celebration of 25 years of Final Fantasy VII (January 31, 1997), and as rumored, the game’s prequel, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII will return with a remake later this year.

In case you haven’t heard of it, the game has remained a PSP exclusive since its release in 2007, so fans have been clamoring for its return to Square Enix year after year. Here we take on the role of Zack Fair, a prodigious member of the SOLDIER paramilitary organization, here we will meet Tifa, Cloud, Sephirot, Genesis and Angeal, important characters in the main story of the franchise, but whose motives and origins are explained in this installment.
