After a delay of almost a year, the new original anime of the idols will hit the screens in the summer season 2022.
Having anime whose original premiere was changed was common in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, the case for “Luminous Witches” occurred in mid-2021, when it was announced that it would be released in the same year. Suddenly, the anime production decided to postpone the broadcast to 2022, and never explained the reasons.
After a long wait, the official website of “Luminous Witches” shared a new promotional scene with the girls of the main cast a few hours ago. Also, the most important news of all has arrived: the anime will premiere on Sunday, July 3, 2022, and will air for the first time at 9:00 PM. MA in Japan via AT-X.

What is Luminous Witches about?
“Luminous Witches” is an original anime produced by Studio Shaft (“Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica”, “Bakemonogatari”). The director is Shouji Saki, who is best remembered for being behind “Assault Lily Bouquet”, another Squad original series with a female cast. Most of the actors in Seuss’s career don’t have many roles.
There are some witches who protect everyone’s smile and fight enemies through the healing power of music. These witches, in contrast to those belonging to the Defense Fleet, are figurines known as “music squadrons”.
“Luminous Witches” is a spin-off of the “Strike Witches” franchise, remembered action and ecchi anime of female squads defending humanity. The series had a sequel called “Brave Witches”, which is located between the first and second seasons of the main anime.
