Sui Ishida, creator of Tokyo Ghoul, shared a tribute to the Berserk manga on social media to celebrate the announcement that it will continue.
In the early hours of this Tuesday I shared with you that the Berserk manga, contrary to what one might think, will continue despite the death of Kentaro Miura. All thanks to the efforts of Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine editorial team as well as Studio Gaga and manga artist Kouji Mori. The news shocked fans around the world but also people in the manga world. To such an extent that the author of Tokyo Ghoul decided to pay tribute to Berserk.
That’s right, Sui Ishida took advantage of her Twitter account to share a heartfelt tribute to the work of her missing colleague. It is the illustration that you can see in this same note. Guts can be seen raising his sword high, the fearsome Dragon Slayer. It appears to be night due to the stars that stand out in the night sky. But there is also an illuminated circle that could well be the moon.
Ishida, who in addition to being the creator of Tokyo Ghoul is the creator of Choujin X, shows his drawing style with this design of Guts from Berserk. It is a simple way for this author to remember the work of Kentaro Miura, and incidentally, celebrate that the adventures of the true Black Swordsman will continue. As expected, the drawing of him has generated many reactions. It has almost eight thousand RTs and exceeds 42 thousand likes.
Like many fans, Sui Ishida will be on the lookout for Berserk, which is left in charge of Mori, a close friend of Miura who knows how the story will end. The difficult thing will be to reach the end and he will have to take advantage not only of his memories but also of all the notes left behind by the creator of Guts and company. It’s not going to be an easy task, and in fact, it won’t be possible to 100% recreate what the original creator of the series once intended.
But it’s the only way he can continue. At least the fans won’t be left with an unfinished story. Returning to the theme of the drawing of the creator of Tokyo Ghoul of Guts from Berserk, is it an allusion to a light of hope? It can also be interpreted that way. This is not the first time that Sui Ishida pays homage to characters from another series. He did the same thing in the past with two of the Tokyo Avengers characters.
