Last Monday, it was revealed that Hajime Inoryu and Shota Ito’s The Killer Inside manga would be getting a live-action series adaptation. It will premiere next October on the Japanese television network Fuji TV and will star Ryosuke Yamada (Edward Elrich in the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist).
Hiroaki Matsuyama (Liar Game, Nobunaga Concerto, Like Goldfish) is directing the adaptation, while Michitaka Okuda (Masukarêdo hoteru, Nobunaga Concerto) is writing the screenplay. For his part, Daisuke Kusagaya is the creator of the series.
The original title of The Killer Inside manga is Shinai Naru Boku e Satsui Wo Komete, a fast-paced thriller filled with suspense, violence, and horror, written by Hajime Inoryo and illustrated by Shota Ito. The series began serialization in 2018 in Kodansha Publishing House’s Young magazine and ended in 11 anthology volumes. Manga edited the work, publishing its first 5 volumes to date.
