Jujutsu Kaisen Manga Overtakes One Piece as Best Franchisee of 2022

One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen performed well in Japan and around the world last year, dominating the novelty of manga, anime, and even successful film movies. In 2023, these two titles will continue to dominate the limelight. One Piece being in its final saga in the manga, the live-action series is being produced by Netflix, and there will be new movies in the future.

Regardless of which projects come out this year, are announced this year, or are delayed, the year 2023 will once again be dominated by these two ever-growing franchises. However, according to a new report from Oricon, Jujutsu Kaisen seems to have had a head start over One Piece, as the manga was able to exceed expectations in a short period of time.

The Oricon Report was released this week, revealing the top 30 franchises for 2022, with each work’s earnings being used as the basis for the ranking. What was surprising about this year’s list was that Jujutsu Kaisen managed to surpass One Piece’s collection with an impressive revenue.

The biggest franchises of 2022

According to Oricon data, “Jujutsu Kaisen” ranked first with over 10 billion yen last year, “One Piece” ranked second with 7 billion yen, and “Tokyo Revengers” ranked third with 6.72 billion yen. “Spy x Family” is 4th place with 6.65 billion yen. Overcoming One Piece isn’t easy, so Jujutsu Kaisen is really worth highlighting.
