With the end of Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic- it is announced that a new anime based on the series is in production.
This Friday the last episode of the third season of Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic was broadcast, with a special of approximately one hour, and at the end it was announced that it will have a new anime. The official Twitter account echoed this information. However, the format of this great animated project is unknown. I mean, it could be the fourth installment of the TV series or really something different.
There is still a lot to adapt from the story created by Aka Akasaka. But if it’s not a new wave of episodes… what could it be? A new OVA cannot be ruled out, like the one that came in one of the volumes of the manga. In that sense, we hope to reach video on demand, not like the one mentioned above and that came out in May 2021. However, with the merger of Funimation and Crunchyroll it is possible that this time it will reach the latter’s catalog.
Crunchyroll has a higher tendency when locating OVAs. However, this new Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime could very well be an animated movie. After three seasons it is a possibility that cannot be completely ruled out. This is not the first time that A-1 Pictures has made a film based on a popular series. This has been done more than once with Sword Art Online and they are very successful films.
Maybe adapt one or more arcs from Akasaka‘s manga in the form of a movie. Regarding this work, 26 volumes have been published so far. But at present it is already in its final stretch. The only thing that can be done at the moment is to be aware when new information appears. At least the assurance remains that the committee behind this fun anime still sees it as a viable option.
Leaving aside a bit about this new Kaguya-sama anime: Love is War, the last episode of the third season was divided into two. So what many suspected is practically true, that this new wave of episodes would last longer than expected. Without a doubt, this anime, which belongs to the romantic comedy genre, is one of the most entertaining in recent years. It will be a great pity to say goodbye.
