Through the official website for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by ONE, Mob Psycho 100, a new Key Visual for Season 3 of the project illustrated by character designer Yoshimichi Kameda was published. In addition, it was announced that the opening theme of the sequel would be titled “One” and would be performed by Mob Choir Group.

ONE published the original manga in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday magazine between April 2012 and December 2017, for a total of sixteen volumes. The twelve-episode animated adaptation was produced by BONES Studio, directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and written by Hiroshi Seiko, and premiered in July 2016. The thirteen-episode second season featured the same production team and premiered in January 2019.

- Takahiro Hasui (Sk8 the Infinity, Bungo Stray Dogs) is in charge of directing this third season at BONES studios.
- Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen, Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi, Darling in the FranXX) is writing and supervising the scripts.
- Yoshimichi Kameda, Kazuhiro Wakabayashi, and Kenji Kawai are returning to handle character design, sound direction, and soundtrack composition, respectively.
