“MeitY is empowered to issue directions to block access to information by the public under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act 2000. Please follow the due process defined in the Information Technology Rules of 2009”.

As per the requests received from the Ministry of Home Affairs through the designated nodal officers, MeitY has blocked BGMI game app as per the provision of Section 69A Information Technology. (IT) Act, 2000. The Information Technology (Procedures and Security Measures to Block Access to Information by the Public) Regulations, 2009.

As mentioned above, the Indian government also confirmed that they had met with Krafton. However, it cannot be disclosed, as Rule 16 of the Information Technology Rules 2019 maintains strict confidentiality with respect to such matters.
