Resident Evil: Village DLC Release Date

Fans have been wondering when the Resident Evil: Villages DLC release date is and whether it’s coming at all after the recent announcement of the VR version. While it’s exciting that PSVR2 owners will get an up close and personal experience of RE: Village Up, those who have already played it are ready for the new content. Unfortunately, we haven’t received many answers about when the promised RE8 DLC will drop.

Capcom announced that the Resident Evil: Village DLC will arrive right after the game’s release. At E3 2021, developers said that development on the additional DLC had just begun. However, the revelations of RE: Village for PSVR2 have fans wondering if there’s more content in the cards yet.

RE7’s two major story DLCs, Not a Hero and End of Zoe, came out almost a year after the main game. So, the RE:Village DLC hasn’t taken much time. The big difference between the two games is that we knew Not A Hero was coming before the release of RE7. However, Not A Hero was delayed, which made Capcom worried about getting into specifics too soon.

There’s also the question of whether the devs consider the PSVR2 version of the game to be DLC only. No details on pricing or upgrades were released with the announcement, so we don’t know if this will be a free update, a DLC, or an entirely different game. Posted with the PlayStation Blog it indicates it will be paid for, with its closing sentence:

“Please stay tuned for further information on the release date and pricing.”

Needless to say, it’s a little confusing. Hopefully, we’ll hear more details about the RE: Villages DLC as part of the Summer Game Fest.
