One Piece will launch its next major feature film across theaters in Japan later this Summer. The latest trailer for One Piece Film Red teases fans by shedding light on the relationship and shocking history between Luffy and Shanks’ daughter, Uta!
Red-Haired Shanks continues to be one of the most important characters in the entire One Piece anime and action manga franchise, but is also one of the most mysterious at the same time. After not seeing him in action for quite a while, fans will be seeing Shanks with his next major feature film: Red!
With the first teaser for One Piece Red debuting earlier this year, it was surprisingly revealed that not only does Shanks have a daughter, but he and Shanks will be playing important roles in the new feature film.
The latest trailer and poster that was released for the film recently, it seems that Luffy and Uta actually met and hung out when they were kids.
One Piece Red is currently scheduled to hit theaters across Japan on August 6. Unfortunately, no international release plans have been revealed for the film yet.
The film is directed by Code Geass franchise director Goro Taniguchi. The screenplay or script was written by One Piece: Gold writer Tsutomu Kuroiwa along with original series creator Eiichiro Oda as creative producer.
